Thanks, Grant. When I wrote it I was not doing much more than noting the literal - because that's how I work. You can see how it might amuse me to choose the word planet rather than lawn, mud, or earth, to give it extra spin. But I didn't see it as sci-fi until it was taken up for the Dwarf Stars anthology!
